In 2001, I was commissioned to create an installation for the Seattle Art Museum's 70th Birthday. My proposal and solution to this commission was to make a "cake" per year based on an artwork that came into the museum's collection during that year. The 71 cakes, all made from archival materials, were placed throughout the two museum locations along with a map that noted the artwork on which the cake was based.
